Ruders, Poul

RUDERS, POUL (b 1949 )

The Danish composer Ruders has established himself in recent years as a highly distinctive voice in European music. Apart from some orchestration lessons he is basically self-taught having received impulse by hearing the music of Penderecki. He is well established abroad, particularly in the United States and in Britain and has written works for among others London Sinfonietta, Houston Symphony Orchestra, and the BBC Promenade Concerts.
